…has played piano for over 35 years.
…has 22 years music teaching experience.
…has been a music director and musician on six shows at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and many other shows at other theatres.
…is a classically trained pianist, and graduated cum laude graduate with a music degree from Portland State University.
…has over 20 years experience accompanying and music directing singers, choirs, instrumentalists, and musical theatre.
…has education in Alexander Technique and Taubman Approach.
“I have heard it said you should only go into music as a career if there’s nothing else you can do – music must be your calling. That’s how I ended up here, after over 30 years of playing and learning music. Passing along this love is one of my great joys. I have been teaching for over 20 years and see no end in sight. Music will always be part of me, and maybe you’re here because you want it to be more a part of you, too – hooray! While I am classically trained, I teach most styles of piano.“
So what are my goals in teaching? Many things:
- To cultivate the love of music
- To empower and inspire confidence, even beyond music making
- To provide a way to authentically express one’s self
- To share my knowledge and joy of music
